SAN ANTONIO, TX – (October 16, 2026) – Grassroots Carbon today announced the appointment of Bobby Gill as Vice President of Communications, joining the company’s leadership team.

As Vice President of Communications, Bobby will lead Grassroots Carbon’s brand, media, and communications strategy across its core audiences: the ranchers enrolling their land, the companies investing in verified environmental outcomes, and the broader climate and agriculture community. He will focus on extending the company’s public voice beyond its leadership to the ranchers, scientists, and partners behind its work. He will also develop the clear messaging and education that help ranchers understand how to participate and what the program can mean for their operations, while helping corporate partners understand the science, verification, and impact behind their investment.

Gill spent nearly a decade at the Savory Institute leading the organization’s development and communications. His work spanned both ends of the value chain: a global network of ranchers, farmers, and pastoralists across more than 30 countries, and brands from General Mills and Applegate to Timberland and Kering, whose teams he guided as they built verified regenerative sourcing into their supply chains. His TEDx talk, “It’s Not the Cow, It’s the How,” explores the interconnection between grasslands and grazing animals and why well-managed livestock matter to everyone, whatever they eat. A biomedical engineer by training, he previously served as lead scientific reviewer at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulating high-risk medical devices and designing clinical trials.

“I couldn’t be more excited to welcome Bobby to the team,” said Brad Tipper, CEO of Grassroots Carbon. “One of the most rewarding parts of my job is supporting the incredible work our ranching partners and our team are doing across America’s grazing lands. Bobby will help us bring that work to life for more people. He understands the science, knows the ranching community, and can show our corporate partners and the broader industry why what happens on these lands matters. Grazing lands matter for ranching families, for our environment, and for our future. As we enter our next phase of growth, I’m thrilled to have Bobby help more ranchers and companies be part of this work.”

“I’ve worked with some of the most innovative farmers and ranchers around the world,” said Bobby Gill, “but for all the soil they’re building and the carbon they’re sequestering, very few are paid for that work. Grassroots Carbon is changing that. With $40 million already paid directly to ranching families, and the most rigorous soil sampling I’ve ever come across, going a full meter deep, it’s the model I’d always hoped someone would build. I’m honored to join the team.”

Beyond his professional life, Bobby is a former skydiving instructor and competitive ultramarathoner. He has since mellowed out and now lives in Hermosa Beach, California, with his wife and two young daughters.
