Canadian farmer, grazier, and Soil Carbon Cowboy Neil Dennis gave us a sneak peek into his ranch!
Neil is a big part of the PastureMap team- here’s how he uses the app:
First, he drew out his map and added his herds onto PastureMap.
Neil bases a lot of his decisions on looking at Recovery Days – he actually helped design this feature! The pastures are red after he’s grazed them, and change color to yellow and then green once they’re ready to be grazed again.
To get the most out of his pastures, Neil subdivides. This pasture has 4 subdivisions for him to move his herd through. Some of his other pastures have 7 or 8 subdivisions that he moves through.
