Grassroots Carbon partners with Nestlé to foster regenerative agriculture and carbon removal

We are thrilled to announce an exciting partnership between Grassroots Carbon and Nestlé, a global leader in nutrition and wellness. This collaboration aims to support regenerative land management practices and carbon removal in Nestlé’s U.S. supply chain, with a primary focus on enhancing soil health and significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions.

At Grassroots Carbon, we understand the crucial role that agriculture, particularly livestock production, plays in our ecosystem and its impact on climate change. Our mission is to work with ranchers in U.S. grasslands to measure and certify carbon storage, monitor soil carbon levels, and promote regenerative practices.

Through this partnership, we will measure and certify additional carbon sequestered over a 15-year period. Nestlé’s investment will help offset the expenses incurred by ranchers when adopting regenerative land practices.

Regenerative land management practices, including rotational grazing, cover cropping, and holistic range management, have shown immense potential in restoring soil and food system health, enhancing biodiversity, and sequestering carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. By integrating these practices into the beef supply chain, Grassroots Carbon and Nestlé aim to make a significant positive impact on the environment while supporting the livelihoods of local land stewards.

This partnership further reinforces Nestlé’s commitment to decarbonize and drive positive change across its value chain by working closely with suppliers and stakeholders.
